What is the difference? Well, Needs are things that can be categorically defined through requirements and the return on investment defined through returned value to the organization. Wants, from experience, are things that ultimately do not provide enough value to warrant the investment, or to put it simply: customers will not pay for! Wants also add complexity to any solution unnecessarily creating "bloatware", needs, on the other hand, add value to a solution and keep the solution focused on the job at hand.

Phil Newell - President

Mr. Newell has over twenty years experience in Business Management and Information Technology, including recently responsible for customer facing technology products for one of the leading performance improvement companies in the world. In his role , he successfully led the development of a web based Project and Portfolio Management and Protect Tracking tool. His efforts established a profitable business with over $1M of revenues in long term contracts with some of the largest companies in the world.
Mr. Newell has published several papers and is an accomplished speaker at internationally recognized industry conferences where he frequently introduces new concepts to business and technology managers on enhanced strategic alignment of business improvement methods using technology solutions.
Prior to Qualtec, Newell spent six years as an integral part of growing a $70M consulting company into a $2B technology division of a $4B Human Capital Management company. The experiences spanning Sales, Marketing, Business Management and Technology Innovation make him a valuable asset to Blue Slate Group organizations as we enable business growth and increase shareholder value.
